Dr. Kendra L. A. Vicars was born on St. Thomas, USVI to Leonora and Arthur Vicars. After her first year in college, she joined the Virgin Islands Army National Guard where she served for 8 years. During her 8 year service period, she was deployed twice and is a Military Veteran. Kendra continued her education and currently holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, a Masters degree in Education with a concentration in Leadership, and a Doctoral degree in Education with a concentration in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

Kendra maintains her license and certification as an English teacher in the St. Thomas/St. John School District. She taught English at both Charlotte Amalie High School and Ivanna Eudora Kean High School for a combination of 10 years. Kendra was named the 2017 District Teacher of the Year.  Kendra served on the district level as the English Language Arts Coordinator and later was promoted to Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Kendra is currently an Assistant Principal at a local high school.

After attaining her Master's Degree, Kendra decided to share her passion for makeup with her community and became a freelance makeup artist in 2012. When her freelancing opportunities expanded she decided to turn her hobby into a business. Kendra went to makeup artistry school in Boca Raton, Florida, and fulfilled the requirements to attain her certification and become a certified and licensed makeup artist in February of 2014. 

Kendra has strategically combined her skillset from both her formal education and military training to sustain a remarkable and highly regarded makeup artistry business trademarked as “Fab Faces By Ken”! 

Kendra has serviced not only members of her own community but also traveling brides from all over the continental United States to include Texas, Georgia, North & South Carolina, New York, Florida, and California to name several. Kendra also provides the option to travel to brides and clients living off-island. She has traveled to a number of places to include but is not limited to, the British Virgin Islands, St. Croix, USVI, and Florida to provide makeup services for clients.  

A true depiction of Kendra’s combined skills is her infamous Makeup Classes held 2-3 times a year. Kendra utilizes her teaching skills to assist her clients in learning how to flawlessly apply their own makeup.  She continues to enhance her skills by traveling every summer to Los Angeles to take makeup classes and trainings to ensure that she is always aware of new trends in the Beauty industry. Her work has propelled her forward and as such “Fab Faces By Ken” is a well-known and highly respected business.
